Caring for Children...

God has a special place in His heart for children. Likewise, we have a vision for the children of this church and this community: A safe, welcoming place, where children can recognize that there is a God who loves them more than they can even imagine! We desire to lead children to a safe place where they can know the Jesus Christ who died for their sins, as their Savior and their friend.

• Comprehensive Child Protection Policy
• Teachers and volunteers who work with children are fingerprinted
• All volunteers undergo comprehensive safety training
• Parents, volunteers, or staff of the church may visit and observe the program at any time.

Object Lesson/Children’s Chat

It's important to us that children have a very special part in our worship gathering. We provide time for thought provoking messages during the gathering for the children. They hear of God’s way for their life as well as know that children are a valued part of our community.

Children’s Christian Education

Teachers who care about impacting the lives of children for God share the stories of the Bible in a creative, well-planned manner. There are classes for every age group.

• Nursery and Toddler child care for ages 4 and younger is available during 9:00, 10:15 and 11:30 worship gatherings.

Infant Baptism

We recognize infant baptism as a mysterious way that the God of the universe begins to stir in the life of a child. It allows the parents and family members of the infant to confess their love for Jesus Christ and commit this child to the teaching of the gospel. It also allows our congregation the opportunity to support the family by committing to be examples of Christ to this child.

FAITH FRIENDS – OUR AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

• Eight-week after school program, which takes place in the fall and again in the spring each Wednesday afternoon throughout the school year.
• Children from Kindergarten through 5th grade interact with caring adults.
• We show them the love of Jesus through activity time, music, and a Bible time.

Northampton Preschool

In an effort to use our building for constant outreach to meet needs in our community, we have established the Northampton UMC Preschool. Our staff is educated and trained in child development, first aid, and communicable diseases. Most importantly, our staff members have a real love for children and a heart for ministry.

• Started September 1995 as an outreach program for our community.
• Traditional pre-school curriculum that incorporates basic Christian principles.
• Classes for three, four and five-year old children.
• Classes meet in the pre-school rooms Monday through Friday.

Nursery and Toddler Program

Providing quality care in a safe environment so that parents can relax in the worship service knowing that their children are well cared for and loved. An electronic paging system is provided so that you can know if your child needs you while you are in the worship service. Available at the 9:00, 10:15 and 11:30 gatherings.

Our summer vacation bible school is an event! This is yet another opportunity we take to pitch the gospel of Jesus Christ to children. Powerful music, lessons, crafts and dramas all convey the love that God has for us and the future we have in Him.
