Purpose of Missions Committee:
To
spread the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ to any and all that have either
never heard or never responded to the message.
Goal of Missions Committee:
To educate the local body of believers about the purpose of missions. To encourage the involvement of individuals in the local body of believers in the ministry of missions. To aid financially in projects which support the purpose of missions committee.
Activities used to fulfill this program:
The church has worked together to send missionaries out from this local body. Our missionaries have spent time evangelizing in several different sites in North America, and they have traveled abroad with the message of Jesus Christ to Honduras, China, Haiti, Papua New Guinea, Albania, Liberia, Scotland and Austria. We currently have several full-time members serving abroad.As a missions committee we have encouraged the congregation to get involved by contributing to our "Loose Change" and "Baskets of Concern" projects. We have worked as a church family to put together shoebox gift packages for Franklin Graham's Samaritan's Purse "Operation Christmas Child" project. Locally we have helped with several urban ministries: Open M, Lighthouse of Hope, Haven of Rest, Harvest Home, Akron Pregnancy Services, South Street Ministries, and Habitat for Humanity.
These are just some of the ways that Northampton is reaching out to the world around us. We are always interested in hearing how God is working in His World.
